So we're minutes away from learning the victor in the American Idol contest. I have noticed one thing the past few weeks: the sound mixing has been just awful. Almsot uniformly, the music is drowning out whoever is singing. Tonight, the piano was way too loud and you couldn't hear the band.

There are professionals involved here, so I can only assume this is on purpose. What's the point of a live broadcast if we don't get to hear what's really happening? I would prefer either offline editing to make the show spiffy or just give us what's there and let us hear it.
