Music

Music continues to be a big part of my life. I had a neat thing happen a day or so ago. I was contacted about an arrangement I did of a piece, in honor of one of my favorite cousins who passed away a year or so ago. A temple in Portland might record the piece on a CD. This would be (as far as I know) the first recording of something I've arranged.

Also, last night, I was part of an 8-piece group that played Israeli folk music as a kind of "coffee house" group to support an art show at our Temple. I got to jam on the piano, which is something I haven't really done in a group. I usually play from music, but in thise case it was just words with chords over them (OK for guitar) and I had to dig some kind of melody or accompaniment out of the piece.

It was a lot of fun.
