Chirstmas on Sundays only
OK while I'm posting I want to suggest that we move Christmas to the Sunday nearest to the Winter solstice. We know when Martin Luther King, Jr. was born and died, and the day that honors his birthday is always on a Monday now for holiday expediency. We don't really know when Christ was born but scholars seem to think it might have been in Summer. So if we can move MLK day why not move Christmas so it's For church music people, I pick Sunday so they don't have to do two services in a row (Sunday and Monday), and then everybody can take Monday off. That's not a bad idea. If Easter can be a sliding holiday, Christmas should be, too. And since lots of people visit home for Christmas, it makes sense to have it on a 3 day weekend. Is there a petition I can sign or something? Posted by: michael at January 23, 2006 4:48 PM Make Christmas Float sign up below.... Posted by: rkc at January 26, 2006 6:56 PM It would be a good idea, but one thing that happened last year and probably would happen every year if the yddi do that is the churches would be closed for christmas. Apparently some of the megachurches closed on that day. Posted by: AtheneBelle at February 1, 2006 9:30 PM |
