Late fees, smate fees

Like those on the commercial, I knelt before the storefront of BlockBuster Video in gratitude for their repeal of late. But when I asked the checkout person about the new deal, she told me that while there is no "late fee" they will only give you a week longer to return a video before they assume you want to buy the video and then they charge your credit card for the purchase.

If you return the video eventually, they buy the video back from you (not clear at what price) and charge you a restocking fee. This smelled an awful lot like a late fee to me.

That's pretty devious of them. I would hope they 'buy' the video back at the price they charged you for it.
