Reunion

My high school class has been doing something unusual for the past 8 years or so. We have been getting together in the Summer for a very informal reunion. It's not expensive; people don't dress up. We had a formal one in 1996 but I believe the informal stuff started just the year before that and has continued since. The whole thing happens because one guy from my class, "Red" Robbins sends out the email every year and keeps us all in touch.

I think this is a great thing, and I am sorry that once again I can't make the yearly get-together. I still keep in touch with some people from my class. One even lives around the corner from me in our school district. I found out that Barbara (Burns) Jones was here when I went to our oldest kid's kindergarten orientation. I saw her on the screen when the video was shown featuring the parent/teacher association. I said aloud "I went to high school with her", which in St Louis isn't something special to say, but given that we both grew up in Dallas, it was amazing.

Well, HHS '76, I wish you a happy reunion. I hope to make it next year.

You missed an nice evening. We gathered with the class of '77 and had a very nice time. These informal things started with the 25th. We had such a great time, Red wanted to do it yearly. I really enjoy seeing everyone and really look forward to it. I have already begun work on the 30th which will be big weekend blow-out in 2006 complete with a business attire/coctail attire night. Had a few teachers in attendance Saturday. I told Ms Hudson about your blog and she asked me to send the link. Ms Trice was there, too. Coach Price, Linda Hearne and Linda Gump completed the teacher group. I'm still able to recognize most of the people from our class. Recognizing the group from '77 for the first time in 28 years was a bit of a challenge! Thanks to Red for giving our classes color-coded name tags. That was a huge help. Wish you could have been there -- see you at the 30th!

I saw the pix that Red sent the link to, and it looked like a lot of fun. Glad you're doing the 30th Dana, it should be great!
