Thank you
Between all my alleged trips mentioned in the note below, I somehow found sufficient time to be a reasonable teacher. I was notified this past week that I have won "Professor of the Year" in an election conducted by the Engineering School. This came as a great surprise, and I am grateful for this show of support from my students. It's been a tough semester for me, and I constantly have the nagging feeling that I'm not doing anything as well as I'd like. The ceremony for this is April 25 at 2 PM, in Whittaker Hall I think. I leave town that afternoon for one of my superfluous trips, this time to an NSF PI meeting that funds the liquid architecture work. Thank you for this honor; I hope to live up to this reputation. Although I didnt vote I would have the same opinion. Hopefully you come back and take another course before I graduate. Posted by: rohit at April 11, 2004 8:14 AM Congratulations! I can't think of anyone more deserving. But I do find myself wondering if more professors will begin to emulate your policy of serving snacks during exams because of this award. I'd hate for you to lose your cachet. Posted by: david at April 12, 2004 10:37 AM Congratulations! I am thrilled for you. After all I have read on your site, I am confident it was very much deserved.
