A little praise for Google

Well, you should know that evidently Google and other search sites will remove material that was gleaned from the web if the creators of that material ask Google to do so. Somebody I know fairly well had some material accidentally "outed" on the web when Google crawled an area of a filesystem that should not have been served up by Apache. Google and other search engines evidently have a process to clear such material from their caches, and they do so expediently upon request from the creator of that material.

Their actions saved this friend of mine a lot of grief and embarassment.

One thing I wonder about is copyright, because if Google caches, and doesn't just link to, copyrighted material, I believe they are in violation of copyright law.
