Fall (non)Break

Resolved: Fall Break at Washington University should be longer than just one Friday. It should extend at least through Monday, and ideally it should be a week long.

Reasoning: Most people don't have class or teach on Friday, so it's not much of a "break". Also, if one is going to go home for 3 days, the airfare and travel hassles could be better amortized (B School word from an Eng School geek) over a longer period of stay. Most people need a week just to catch up; I know I do.

That is a really, really good idea. One of the best I have heard in a long time.

Is this why CS531 is cancelled tomorrow? :-)

No, I'm sad to say I messed up my back and while I might be OK by class tomorrow, I might not, and it's inconvenient for part-time students if I cancel at the last minute... I'm looking forward to yoru talk though Chris!

Ouch, that's not good. Does Rest Ice Compression Elevation work on a back injury? I'm glad someone is looking forward to my talk, as I'm starting to get quite nervous.

Yes, RICE is indeed the cure. I had been trying heat, and it was a bad idea.
