California Governor

OK, I don't usually use this column to post about politics, but I can't help myself.

Why do so many Californians want Schwarzenegger for their next governor, assuming they can convince their current governor to leave office?

I'll acknowledge Arnold's successes at bodybuilding and acting. What concerns me is that

  • He was probably early on the scene to advocate Body by Monsanto. In other words,

    The end justifies the means

Do you want a governor like that?

  • Acting is a noble profession, yet it cultivates in actors the ability to project a fake persona. Do you want a governor like that?

I like his movies as much as the next guy, but I don't see the segue from bodybuilder/actor to governor. I mean, fakeness and excessive concerns about appearance?

Oh, did you say he's running for Governor of California?

Oh, never mind then.

You beat to the punch on posting about this, but I agree with you completely. The whole things strikes me as incredibly silly.

You have no idea how scared people out here are about the reality of Arnold. Personally, I'm not ready to accept the inevitable (the governator)
