Baker Boy (not a song by Avril L)

When I was a kid, there was this cinammon roll that I was crazy for, called "Baker Boy". Recently, for reasons I am asked not to divulge [but would do so for my canonical bribe], I started to wonder if that roll was still made. It disapeared from Dallas grocery shelves when I was about 10 yaers old.

So of course I consulted Google, and there is indeed a bakerboy.com. I contacted them with the appropriate query and received:

Ron,

Thank you very much for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the product you speak
of is not a Baker Boy product. We have received several inquiries about
this product, however we do not have information as to the company who
produced this product in the 1960's.

Sorry we couldn't help you find this product.

Thank you.

So others are wondering as well!

I too remember a confection made of cinimmon, nuts, sugar and pastry in a small, dense pre-sliced loaf. It appears that one year after you posted your inquiry and letter from the North Dakota bakery of the same name, I too went to Google to find out what ever happened to Baker Boy. Have you found out in the interum? Please let me know if you have.

Add me to the list of folks with a Baker Boy jones. They were wonderful, and I have looked for them, also... but alas, to no avail. If anyone knows where to find them, please share! They were one of the huge treats of my West Texas childhood.

I just took a look at that website for Baker Boy. Perhaps they don't make that product anymore, but the logo sure looks like the one that was on the package to me.
