Composing myself
A while back, I posted some PDFs and MIDI files of some (music) arrangements I'd done for various purposes. One of those, an arrangement of Yersuahlayim Shel Zahav, ended up being linked by an Israeli web page with my link very near the bottom (find Cytron on the page). The arrangement I did was for 4-part (SATB) choir. The verses aren't set yet but I set the refrain in a kind of Gospel-style harmony. For some reason, Google lists me as the first hit for "Yerushalayim Shel Zahav"; always liked Google's taste in music. In any case, a guy in Chicago who is about to be married contacted me about an arrangement for flute, violin, and cello, and I just finished it. If you want to hear the work in progress, click here, and the score can be found here. This is my first "commission" though I asked no fee. Maybe if this CS stuff doesn't pan out I have another career to consider? Or should I keep my day job? I'd like to know what you think. |
