Eagles 7, Blast 3
We just played our first game in the "C" division of adult hockey, that division being one step up from our beginner class. We faced our old arch-rivals, the Eagles, and each team has taken on some new players. It was great to be out playing again, and it wouldn't surprise me if we improve by playing in this division. Our web page is here and we'll see if we can beat the Shock on Sunday (Webser Groves, 10:30 PM). We have beaten and tied them before, even though they have been in the "C" division for a while. For myself, I see much improvement in my skating, and I feel like I can go somewhere now with the puck instead of just swatting at it randomly. I've been working at it steadily, with a lot of good help from some amazing skaters: Scott, Ryan, Nick if you read this -- thank you! For those of you out there who have never tried to play hockey, you don't know what you are missing. It is the most amazing sport. It might be even more fun to play as an adult than as a kid -- I couldn't tell you about playing as a kid -- but I can't imagine it getting better than this. There's a new beginner class coming up this winter, see the HNA web site. HNA is for "adults" 21 and over. There are also opportunities to take classes at the Brentwood rink on Monday nights. |
